A source close to Kanye West recently disclosed to PEOPLE that the rapper is considering starting a church. The discussion comes just days after West hosted a Sunday Service performance at Coachella for over 50,000 people on Easter.

The source says that Kanye's church "wouldn’t be the traditional, 3-hymns-and-a-sermon thing. Instead, it would be a way to point people to Jesus through the arts and through a community of people who love and care for each other."

In a recent interview with ELLE, Kim Kardashian West referred to Kanye's service as a healing experience for him. It doesn't feature any sermons or preaching, only music and a "Christian vibe."
PEOPLE's source says that no plans to go forward with the idea have been made. They do go on to cite Kanye's drive to help people who are in need of support, saying: "He understands brokenness and the need for healing, probably more than most people. He believes in the healing powers of music, but also believes that God can step in and heal people’s brokenness and their issues.”
Previous iterations of Kanye's Sunday Service, which he aims to perform weekly on every Sunday of 2019, have included prayers lead by DMX.
