Kaytranada & Aminé Announce New Project 'KAYTRAMINÉ'
Electronic producer and DJ Kaytranada and rapper Aminé are preparing a new project, KAYTRAMINÉ, which is “coming soon.”
Kaytranada and Aminé are cooking up something new. On Tuesday (April 4), the two announced that their upcoming collaborative project KAYTRAMINÉ is “coming soon.” The release will be the latest collaboration, as they previously teamed up on songs “YeYe,” “La Danse,” and more.
The two hit social media with a trailer that shows Kaytranada manipulating a MIDI controller, with segments of a woman saying both their names. Kaytranada makes a beat out of all the sounds as the camera pans out, revealing their final track.

In 2021, Aminé released his fourth album TWOPOINTFIVE, which followed his first three LPs, 2017’s Good for You, 2018’s OnePointFive and 2020’s Limbo. The latter album featured Young Thug, Summer Walker, Vince Staples, Charlie Wilson, Injury Reserve, and slowthai. The deluxe edition of the album would see seven additional songs, with appearances from Toosii, Valee, Saba, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
“We might change up the sonics every album with the beats and the production,” Aminé told Billboard in 2021 about future music. “But I tried to experiment with my voice but also keep it me and give these elements that sort of still feel like myself. I have songs that didn’t make TWOPOINTFIVE that were a little too far off for me, and I knew that in the back of my mind. I just tried to make sure I’m not falling off the cliff and losing my true self by making these songs.”
In 2022, Aminé embarked on the "Best Tour Ever" while Kaytranada went on the "After Hours Til Dawn Tour” alongside Snoh Aalegra and Mike Dean. Although the Grammy-winner hasn’t dropped a full LP since 2020’s Bubba, he released the 2021 EP Intimidated with features from Thundercat, H.E.R. and Mach-Hommy, also producing tracks for Joyce Wrice (“Iced Tea”) and Anderson .Paak (“Twin Flame”).
