Knxwledge Flips Another Batch of Video Game Soundtracks on New Beat Tape

The Stones Throw producer taps back into gaming scores with the second installment of his VGM beat tape series.

Just a few weeks after his last batch, Knxwledge is back with another new beat tape.

Last night, the producer shared VGM's.PRT_2, an eight-track sequel to the mid-June series starter. On both projects, the Stones Throw beatmaker flips selections from classic and obscure video game soundtracks, stitching drums and synths through scores of the highest and lowest fidelity. VGM joins a grip of ongoing beat tape series from Knx, including WrapTaypes and HexualSealings, as well as the multi-volume Musiq Soulchild and Meek Mill remix tapes.

The pace of the producer's drops has been particularly torrential in 2020, releasing nine tapes, an EP, and a nothing short-of-stellar sophomore studio album, 1988, featuring Rose Gold and a pair of Anderson .Paak appearances. Mind you, it's only July. As far as future releases go, Knx contributes production to a pair of songs on Steve Arrington's upcoming album, Down to the Lowest Terms: The Soul Sessions. He was also recently spotted in the studio with Roc Marciano and his NxWorries partner.

Hear Knxwledge flip another batch of video game soundtracks on VGM's.PRT_2 project below. Hold tight for his next transmission.
