Kodak Black Addresses Trump Commuting His Sentence in New Song
In his new single, Kodak Black thanks Donald Trump for playing a role in his release.
Following his last-minute commuted sentence Kodak Black has released a new track “Last Day In.”
In the song Kodak thanks former U.S. President Donald Trump for commutating his 46-month sentence. “Trump just freed me, but my favorite president is on the money.” Unsurprisingly, he also alluded to the first things he wants when he gets out: sushi and coochie. Later in the track, there’s another bar that sticks out, “I don't know, I think it's over for this rap game shit.” A bit after that he shares that he’s creating a healthier lifestyle for himself and that he’s proud of how far he’s come.
Beyond the new song, Kodak also recently shared his thoughts about Trump’s pardon on Twitter: “I Want To Thank The President For His Commitment To Justice Reform And Shortening My Sentence. I Also Want To Thank Everyone For Their Support And Love. It Means More Than You Will Ever Know. I Want To Continue Giving Back, Learning And Growing.”
Fans are likely excited about the Florida rapper’s release, but there’s still an additional case beyond the weapons charges he served time for. Black has an outstanding first-degree criminal sexual assault charge in South Carolina. He allegedly raped an 18-year-old woman in a hotel room following a 2016 concert.
According to TMZ, South Carolina prosecutors are “aggressively” aiming to pursue the case. He could face up to 30 years in state prison if convicted.
