Lil Nas X has been one of the most dominant figures in recent pop culture history. And he has yet to release a debut album. That is changing this year. The rapper just announced his debut album. The album will be called Montero and it doesn't have a release date yet.
X made the announcement with a cool, marvel cinematic universe-inspired trailer. The trailer features a bunch of career highlights over the years, including scenes from Lil Nas X' breakout hit “Old Town Road” and follow up hits like “Panini,” “Holiday,” and “Montero (Call Me by Your Name).” There is also a shout out to his memorable performance from the 2021 BET Awards (which he capped with a kiss with one of his dancers.)

Lil Nas X has had one of the most eventful couple of months in recent history. Back in March he dropped the video for "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)," which featured the rapper giving Satan a seductive lap dance while wearing boxers and thigh-high boots, before snapping the devil's neck and taking his crown. This video, and the release of satan-inspired shoes with real blood, caused a fake moral outrage that X loved every moment of. Despite trolls that the song would be pulled from the label, "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" was a hit, going no. 1 on the Hot 100 Billboard charts.
Lil Nas X's debut project was an EP. It was called 7and it dropped in 2019. That project featured “Old Town Road,” which is still one of the most successful singles of all time.
