Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter V" is Expected to Debut at No. 1 on Billboard

Welcome back, Wayne.

Lil Wayne's long-awaited twelfth studio album Tha Carter V is expected to debut at no.1 on next week's Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

According to a report in HITS Daily Double, the album is on track to be the third-biggest bow of the year, just behind Drake's Scorpion (732k) and Travis Scott's Astroworld (537k).

It's pacing for 475-525,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 165-180,000 in traditional sales.

The 23-track project earned 49.5 million streams in the first 24 hours on Spotify, making it the second largest debut in the history of the streaming platform (the first being Drake’s Scorpion with 80.5 million).

According to Chart Data, C5 has since surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, and Wayne also occupies 23 out of 25 of the top songs on Apple Music in the U.S.

Tha Carter IV debuted in 2011 with 964k, long before the era of streaming.
