Robert Glasper has released "Therapy Pt. 2" featuring the late Mac Miller, which will appear on Black Radio III: Supreme Edition.
Robert Glasper and the late Mac Miller pair up on "Therapy Pt. 2." The song will appear on Glasper's forthcoming album Black Radio III: Supreme Edition which releases on Friday (October 14). "Therapy Pt. 2" follows Miller's song "Therapy" which appeared on his 2014 project Faces.
“I was working with my friend. We were just finishing up this specific beat. I immediately sent it to him, and literally within an hour he sent me back that track,” Glasper said about the process of "Therapy Pt. 2" in a press release. “Everything was on there—both verses the choruses—and you could tell it was not something that he had written before. He sang the chord changes. You can tell he really came up with that in the moment.”
The estate of Miller (whose birth name was Malcolm James McCormick) added, “We're honored to support in sharing this beautiful song that Malcolm and Robert Glasper created together. The song is a reflection of the special friendship and musical gifts the two shared.”
The original version of Black Radio III was released in February, with contributions from H.E.R., Ty Dolla $ign, Killer Mike, Q-Tip, Ant Clemons, Esperanza Spalding and more. Black Radio III is Glasper's third installment of the Black Radio series, starting with the release of Black Radio in 2012. From now until November 5, Glasper will be playing a Herbie Hancock-tribute residency with Nicholas Payton and John Ellis at Blue Note New York.
