Following a string of loose singles and guest features, Zack Fox has upped his rap game resume with the sneak release of a debut album.
Titled shut the fuck talking to me, the nine-track project clocks in at just short of 20-minutes-long. But even with the abbreviated runtime, the one-liners are copious and densely packed, arriving at a pretty remarkable clip. And the production ranges from booming, fuzzed-out trap anthems from BNYX to more polished r&b-sampling suites from friend and longtime collaborator Kenny Beats to closing out the set with a lushly psychedelic cut from The Alchemist (which, according to the producer's Instagram page, appears to be getting a visual accompaniment at some point.)
Fox commenced his rap run all the way back in 2018, releasing his debut Kenny Beats-produced single "Square Up." The following year, Fox went fairly viral with the release of "Jesus Is The One (I Got Depression)," which was conceived in an episode of Kenny's Youtube series, The Cave. To date, the track has racked up nearly 8 million views and over 35 million plays on Spotify. And it doesn't appear to be losing steam any time soon.
