The rapper’s posthumous album was announced by his family via Instagram.
Circles, the newest album from Mac Miller following his death in 2018 will be released next week.
The late rapper’s family took to Instagram to share that the upcoming release is a “companion” to his well received album Swimming. The post read:
"At the time of his passing, Malcolm was well into the process of recording his companion album to Swimming, entitled Circles. Two different styles complementing each other, completing a circle -- Swimming in Circles was the concept."
The note also expressed that prior to his untimely passing Miller had been working on the Circles with Jon Brion. Brion cleared his calendar to help him fine-tune early versions of songs. He would later dedicate time to finish Circles based on his time and conversations with Mac.
Additionally, the post shared that it would have been important to Mac to have the album release for the world to hear. Circles will be available on Friday, January 17.
