Mariah Carey's Holiday Classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is the No. 1 Song (Again)
Mariah Carey's 1994 classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You" becomes the first song in Billboard Hot 100 history to reach No. 1 in "three distinct runs".
Nearly three decades after its 1994 debut, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" continues to prove that Mariah Carey is the holidays' undisputed queen. According to Billboard, the song made its third streak at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, last topping the charts on December 21st, 2019, December 28th, 2019, and January 4th, 2020.
"All I Want for Christmas Is You" has extended its record for spending the most weeks at No. 1 with its sixth week atop the Billboard Hot 100. With 85 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, Carey is the first artist to have the historic rank in four distinct decades. To commemorate the song's 25th anniversary, in 2019, Carey lit up the Empire State Building during an anniversary ceremony.

The news of Carey's legendary "Christmas" run ties with the release of her debut digital cover package in UK publication gal-dem. In the holiday-centric feature, Carey spoke about her new single "Fall In Love At Christmas" featuring Khalid and Kirk Franklin, her 2020 autobiography and the legacy of "All I Want for Christmas Is You":
“My last Christmas concert before Covid-19 was Madison Square Garden,” Carey said. “All races, all ages, all faiths, all people. After growing up as a kid that wanted to cry every day because I didn’t fit in, that made me so happy."
To further promote "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and the singer's favorite holiday, Carey recently teamed up with McDonald's for 'The Mariah Menu', twelve daily menu deals in the McDonald's app that offers free merchandise to select participants. Like other recent McDonald's celebrity collaborations, 'The Mariah Menu' will be available for a limited-time, ending on Christmas Eve.
