Master P and Monica Clash Over Efforts to Free C-Murder

The No Limit founder's tone shifted from grateful to annoyed in a video posted to Instagram on Friday.

The fight to free C-Murder from prison has stirred up some tension between Monica and Master P.

Last week, Monica (who once dated the incarcerated rapper,) announced that she'd joined forces with Kim Kardashian to seek the release of C-Murder (government name: Corey Miller,) who was sentenced to life in prison in 2009 for the 2002 killing of 16-year-old Steven Thomas. Miller pled not guilty and maintained his innocence through years of appeals and trials. As the older brother of the former No Limit rapper, Master P was initially in full support of the added assistance from someone with as high of a profile as Kardashian. "Whatever we can do to get my brother home–that’s what it’s about. It’s just a blessing that people understand that my brother is innocent. He should have been free,” the rap mogul told TMZ earlier this week.

But the tone of the iconic label's founder shifted from grateful to annoyed in a video posted to Instagram Friday night. In the clip, the No Limit chief aired out his frustration with his brother's lack of gratitude for the efforts of their family, choosing to align himself with friends over blood. P was particularly sour over his brother's failure to acknowledge the ongoing efforts of their parents and late grandmother.

And in a since-deleted comment section bombing, Monica chimed in, according to HotNewHipHop. "I have been respectful towards you and you have refused to do the same! You can NOT speak on me because you do not know me!," the 90s r&b star wrote. She added, "I have only conversed with Silkk! This matter is between you MEN, you’re brothers! Leave me out of this because my efforts have BEEN the same!" She went on to encourage Master P to check the visitation lists at the various prisons his brother had been to over the years.

It's unclear whether there's been any progress in the commutation of C-Murder's sentence following the revived effort to secure his release.
