A Coachella performance wasn't the only thing sacrificed for The Carter Twins

At the top of June, Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed their twins, Rumi and Sir, to the world.

And while the spectacle was one of royal proportions, much in the way of performances and one-off appearances were foregone to give the kids a proper (and private) entrance. In a recent interview with La Presse, visionary director Michel Gondry (Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep) revealed that a project he had helmed for Mrs. Carter was one of those shelved to make way for the newborns, claiming it was "a finished clip and it turned out very, very well, I think. Had it turned up, the project would be his first presumably musical one since last year's "City Lights" video for The White Stripes. In the same interview, Gondry spoke to "a very personal" upcoming film project, as well as an American TV series. No further details are available on those just yet.

As for Beyonce's project, suppose we'll revisit that once the kids can at least be seen in public.
