Mick Jenkins and Kaytranada Drop Bouncy New Single "Designer Frames"

Mick Jenkins reunites with the new Grammy-winning producer for their first collaboration since Bubba.

It's been a relatively quiet few years for Mick Jenkins. Despite dropping his EP The Circus in January, Mick's only appeared on "Gray Area," a track from Kaytranada's critically-acclaimed album Bubba and Cleveland MC Kipp Stone's track "Sprague Ave." Days after the Montreal producer won a Grammy award for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Bubba, the two have teamed up again for "Designer Frames." Stream the new track below.

"Album on the way," Mick wrote on the track's Soundcloud caption. "Congrats to my Grammy award-winning brother Kaytranada."

In the last few days, Jenkins has released two singles via non-fungible token. Jenkins calls "Cash Cows," minted on Zora.Co, :"a statement on the African-American purchasing power." The Monte Booker-produced "Sundays [for lovers]" can also be found on Zora.Co. Find both of these tracks on Mick's Zora profile.

Mick floats over the bouncy tambourine on "Designer Frames," exploring his frame (no pun intended) of mind through the lens of his thousand-dollar Cazals.

In addition to The Circus, which featured production from heavy hitters like Black Milk and Hit-Boy, Jenkins most recently dropped the non-album single "frontstreet." Before that, he'd been pretty quiet on the musical front since 2018. A slew of singles followed the Or More: The Frustration EP and Pieces of a Man album.

Stream Mick Jenkins' "Designer Shades" on SoundCloud. Stay tuned for further updates (and potentially a new album) from Mick Jenkins.
