On Friday, the artist's mother posted two new photos on her Instagram page with the caption, "He is maintaining great spirits and will be home before you know it."
The 23-year-old Brooklyn rapper is currently serving a seven-year sentence at New York's Clinton Correctional Facility stemming from murder conspiracy charges in late 2014.

Shmurda, born Ackquille Jean Pollard, was arrested at Quad Studios in 2014 and pled guilty to one count of third-degree conspiracy and one count of weapons possession in 2016.
His parole hearing is slated for August 2020, and he could be eligible for early release from prison and parole as early as December 2020 instead of his expected release date of 2022. Because Shmurda served 685 days prior to his sentencing, two years could be shaved off his sentence. Though, he may still receive additional time due to prison violations. So far he's earned 11 violations.
