Enigmatic rapper Mr. Fantastik is paying tribute to the late MF DOOM. Fantastik – whose identity remains a mystery – recently dropped a freestyle recording dedicated to DOOM. The tribute, which Fantastik shared on his Instagram account, arrives in time for the second anniversary of the rapper's passing on October 31.
"We had the best time creating beats and songs / a true love for this game, yeah you put me on," Fantastik rapped while filming a candid picture of DOOM laid atop a sketchbook.
Fantastik first appeared on record with DOOM on "Anti-Matter," from the rapper's 2003 album Take Me to Your Leader, released under one of his many aliases, King Geedorah. One year later, Mr. Fantastik rejoined Metal Fingers on “Rapp Snitch Knishes” from MM.. Food.
Fantastik has since maintained a relatively low profile since the early-2000s, although Twitter threads have been made about the rapper's possible identity.

Also commemorating the two-year anniversary of DOOM’s death on October 31 was the rapper's wife, Jasmine, who penned a heartfelt message on Instagram on Monday, marking his transition as “DOOMSDAY.”
“It is tears of joy of having the pleasure to have been with the man whom many call DOOM, we call him Old Dad. You will always be missed,” Jasmine wrote.
In related news, it was recently announced that a book on DOOM and Madlib's Madvillainy is going to be published next year by 33 1/3 Books.
