From Queensbridge to Kennedy Center

In 2014, Nas celebrated the 20 year anniversary of his brilliant debut album Illmatic. One of the ways he honored the release of Illmatic was by performing the album in full at the Kennedy Center.

For the performance, Nas was backed by the National Symphony Orchestra.

On Friday night, PBS aired the entire concert in an hour long film, which was part concert, part documentary.

The film has a bunch of great footage showing Nas' upbringing, as well as how he prepared for the performance.
