Gilles Peterson made good on last week's promise, premiering Slingbaum's haunting new single, "BEHOOVE," on his BBC 6 Radio show this morning.
The track features lead vocals and production from Erykah Badu with subterranean howls from D'Angelo, as well as contributions from Chris Dave, Justin Brown, Cory Henry, Marcus Strickland, Keyon Harrold, and more. "BEHOOVE" is featured on Slingbaum's debut album, Slingbaum 1, which was announced at the top of the year as a vinyl-exclusive release with a gaudy guest list of collaborators, including FKA Twigs, Syd, Bilal, Nick Hakim, Ahmad Jamal, Questlove, and others. A precise date has yet to be revealed, but the producer's site claims those who purchased copies can expect a link with digital downloads in late May.
Hear the world premiere of Slingbaum's "BEHOOVE" via BBC 6 Radio. Head to the 1:50:53 mark to jump straight to the track's introduction (with a roll call of contributors from Badu,) and hold tight for updates on the release of Slingbaum's debut album in the weeks ahead.
