Snoop Dogg Brings Death Row Records to TikTok

One year after acquiring Death Row Records and removing the catalog from DSPs, Snoop Dogg has brought it to TikTok.

Snoop Dogg has teamed up with TikTok to reintroduce Death Row Records. On Tuesday (February 14), The Doggfather announced that he and the video media platform have joined forces to re-release the Death Row Records catalog via TikTok's distribution platform SoundOn.

Last year, Snoop removed the Death Row Records catalog from DSPs, including his 1993 debut Doggystyle, Dr. Dre's The Chronic and Tha Dogg Pound's Dogg Food, formerly planning to develop his own streaming service.

“Since I took Death Row off streaming almost a year ago not a day goes by without people asking me to put it back up." said Snoop Dogg in a statement. "As the Super Bowl rolled around,  I knew fans would be looking for the music from our iconic performance in 2022, so I wanted to reintroduce the most historic catalog to the people. I reached out to the folks at TikTok to make more history…enjoy ya'll…and for all the fans that are wondering Death Row Records catalog will be back on streaming services real soon.”

A playlist of Death Row Records' greatest hits is now available on TikTok's music hub, ahead of its wider release for content creators to use in their videos next week. Users also have access to a filter inspired by Snoop's “Who Am I? (What’s My Name)” music video.

Under Snoop's ownership, which began in early 2022, Death Row Records has expanded to ventures in the cannabis and wine industries.
