Solange pulls out of AfroPunk South Africa show and opens up about her health struggles.

Solange canceled her New Year’s Eve show at AfroPunk Fest in Johannesburg, South Africa due to a battle with longstanding health issues.

In a statement posted to Instagram Wednesday, the singer revealed her recent struggles with autonomic disorder, an illness that affects parts of the nervous system.

“The past five months I have been quietly treating, and working through an Autonomic Disorder. It been a journey that hasn’t been easy on me,” she wrote. “It’s a complicated diagnoses , and I’m still learning so much myself.”

Solange was slated as a headliner or this year’s Joburg festival alongside Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals. The event is set to take place from Dec. 30-31st. No word on whether or not AfroPunk will be updating the bill with an alternate act.
