SZA has returned with new album SOS, bringing along a new video for single "Nobody Gets Me." Directed by Bradley Calder, the black-and-white video sees the singer-songwriter, real name Solana Rowe, singing about her soulmate on a rooftop and around an empty city.
"Nobody Gets Me" is one of 23 tracks from SOS, which features Don Toliver (“Used”), Phoebe Bridgers (“Ghost in the Machine”), Travis Scott (“Open Arms”), and posthumous “The Stomp” vocals from the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard (“Forgiveness”). An uncredited appearance from Lizzo surfaces on "F2F" while experimental artist Björk is also sampled on "Forgiveness." SOS comes five years after SZA's 2017 debut album Ctrl.
"Nobody Gets Me" also follows SZA's recent videos for "PSA" and "Shirt," the latter which co-stars actor LaKeith Stanfield. On last weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live, the Top Dawg Entertainment act performed singles "Blind" and "Shirt," also announcing the release date of SOS.
SOS could potentially mark SZA's final LP, as the artist recently told Billboard that she doesn't see "longevity" for herself in music.
“I like to create, I like to write, I like to sing, and I like to share. But I don’t know if chasing after superstardom or whatever I’m supposed to be doing right now is sustainable for me or for anybody. I’mma take a good swing at it, and I’mma give ’em my absolute best," she said.
