The track originally surfaced in 2018 ahead of the release of Taylor's album K.T.S.E.
Teyana Taylor unveils a single "We Got Love" following the release of "Morning" with Kehlani.
Originally rolled out in 2018, the Kanye West-produced song was actually performed on Saturday Night Live with the rapper. Last year, the G.O.O.D. Music artist shared that "We Got Love" would be a part of a "more completed" edition of K.T.S.E., her last album.
The track was left of the project due to clearance issues. It samples The Younghearts' "We’ve Got Love (You Better Believe It). Unfortunately, another edition of K.T.S.E. never surfaced. "We Got Love" will reportedly appear on Taylor's next album.
Earlier this year, Teyana appeared on Elton John's Beats 1 radio show and expressed that the follow-up to her last project would not be produced by West. She previously spoke on her disappointment in the end product of K.T.S.E.
In the interview she also shared:
"Not a might, it’s definitely gonna come out this year. I’m gonna do whatever I have to do to make sure it gets out. This one is a little bit of everybody. I want to kind of explore a little bit more, get a couple more people involved, to really, really bring to life my vision."
Two months ago, Taylor announced via Twitter that the follow-up to her last album was slated to drop on Friday, December 6. At the moment, the project is delayed.
