Tina went on to say that she still thinks about Ike. However, the memories are mostly good:
I dont know what the dreams are about...The dreams are still there not the violence, the anger. I wonder if Im still holding something in.
Ike and Tina Turner were married from 1962 to 1977. Their turbulent relationship was famously displayed in the 1993 movie What's Love Got to Do with It, which showed how violent Ike was. However, in his 2001 autobiography Takin Back My Name, Ike said some of what was displayed was exaggerated.
He wrote:
Sure, Ive slapped Tina. There have been times when I punched her to the ground without thinking. But I never beat her.
Ike Turner died in 2007 of a cocaine overdose.
