Gilles Peterson will premiere the unreleased D'Angelo and Erykah Badu collaboration "Behoove" on an upcoming episode of his BBC Radio 6 show.
Teased in a snapshot of a tracklist from Slingbaum's forthcoming One project, the song features contributions from Chris Dave (drums,) Cory Henry (keys,) Jameel Bruner (organ,) Keyon Harrold (horns,) and more. And according to an Instagram post from the enigmatic producer (see below,) Peterson will get first dibs on his show next Saturday, May 23.
Sligbaum's One was announced at the top of 2020 as a vinyl-exclusive three-track release with additional support from FKA twigs, Bilal, Syd, Nick Hakim, Questlove, Ahmad Jamal, Damon Albarn, and more. Pre-orders of the project have come and gone, but according to the producer's site, a limited run of copies will land at select stores this spring. Those who already put in their orders should receive digital download links by the end of this month.
Tune in next Saturday at 14:00 BST (or Sunday at 9:00 am EST) to hear Gilles Peterson spin the unreleased D'Angelo and Erykah Badu link-up. Keep an eye on Slingbaum's site for updates on which stores will get a batch of the project on wax.
