Watch Little Brother Reunite and Perform Together for The First Time in Nearly a Decade
Phonte, Big Pooh, and 9th Wonder, did the unthinkable.
Following years of turbulence and nearly a decade of disrepair, Little Brother put it all behind them last night.
According to BrooklynVegan, the legendary three-piece reunited for a massive crowd at the Art of Cool Festival in their hometown of Durham. While 9th Wonder was the only member officially announced for an appearance at the festival, the city's official Twitter account claims that Big Pooh and Phonte were made aware of the opportunity for an impromptu set just hours before it happened and promptly seized the opportunity to reconcile live and direct.
The two-day festival also featured performances from Erykah Badu, Nas, Anthony Hamilton, Maxwell, and more, though it seems hard to imagine that any of that mattered by the end of last night. Though it's been nearly a decade since the full ensemble's been captured on-track, Pooh has hinted at the possibility of rekindling over the years. In August of 2017, he shared a loosie featuring Phonte. But with no 9th production, there was a hint as to the nature of their relationship at the time.
Whether an album could surface seems like an early and hopeful speculation. But this is a damn good start.
