Roc Marciano Shares a Lush and Grainy Video for "Downtown 81"
The New York rapper drops the first visual from his new album Mt. Marci.
In case you missed it, Roc Marciano capped a comparatively quiet 2020 with the release of a new album.
On Monday, the rapper dropped his second project of the year, Mt. Marci. The 16-track outing features appearances from Action Bronson, ScHoolboy Q, Kool Keith, and Trent Truce. It's almost entirely self-produced, save for two tracks with additional contributions from Jake One and Chuck Strangers. It was released exclusively via Roc's site, where digital downloads are being offered for $40 (a date for the broader release of Mt. Marci has yet to be announced.)
And now, the album has a visual component that's as lush and grainy as the album itself, offering fans a glimpse at the project before it hits streamers. On Friday night, Roc released an ace clip for the Jake One-produced album cut, "Downtown 81." Directed by Jason Goldwatch (whose reel features videos for The Roots, Jay Electronica, Pusha T, JAY-Z, Kid Cudi, and other marquees,) the treatment follows Roc's steps from Japanese garden to gold-plated hotel suite to the racetrack and back.
