Luis Cabrarasantos, 25, was wanted in New York but arrested in Hartford, Connecticut. He was living in Hartford for the past two weeks but working in Manhattan as a plumber according to a report from Fox 61. Although he previously didn't have a criminal record, Cabrarasantos has now been charged with murder, manslaughter, gang assault, and criminal possession of a weapon in the death of Junior.
Cabrarasantos will be arraigned on those charges on July 17 in New York. The judge set his bond at $1 million.
Three of 12 men accused of killing the teen currently have an entire unit to themselves at Rikers Island because other inmates have made numerous threats against them.
The other inmates "want blood" from the three men — Danel Fernandez, 21; Jose Muniz, 21 and Santiago Rodriguez, 24 — involved with Junior's death on June 20. The trio is currently being held in the GRVC Building — a unit meant to house 50 inmates — at Rikers. Fernandez, Muniz, and Rodriguez belong to the Trinitarios gang, a violent New York-based organization composed of Dominican Americans.
The three men have received death threats while in prison, including some from other Trinitarios gang members.
"You have every Latin gang, including the Trinitarios, after them," a jail source said. "They brought a lot of heat to the Trinitarios gang, which is why they are making threats against their own right now."
