It's been roughly three and a half years since we lost the incomparable voice of Whitney Houston, but the parties responsible for the ill-advised Chief Keef hologram seem to think it's been long enough. Billboard reports Pat Houston, president of the Whitney Houston Estate and Alki David, president of Hologram USA, will be spearheading an effort to bring Houston's hologram to "a major US venue" with the intention of touring the legend's image across the globe following the initial performance; a posthumous world tour, if you will. And as frustrating and downright blasphemous as these new hologram treatments of fallen stars tend to feel, it appears it's just something that we'll have to get acquainted with, as the conventions of modern technology continue to prove that nothing is sacred, and that there's just no such thing as too soon. Whitney's holographic rendering comes as a quick follow-up to the announcement of Billie Holiday's return to the Apollo Theater as a hologram, solidifying a new partnership between the historic Harlem theater and Hologram USA. No dates or specific venues have been announced for Whitney's return as a hologram, but we'll be sure to have the scoop once it makes way.
