Soul legend Al Green stopped by The Late Show With David Letterman to show the world he's still got all of the goods in a true-to form performance of his hits "Let's Stay Together" and "Tired Of Being Alone." After just receiving The Kennedy Center Honors this past weekend, Reverend Green decided to keep the love rolling and give us a taste of that old time feeling, with Paul Schaeffer and The Late Show Band in tow. We haven't heard a peep from the Southern soul pioneer since our very own Questlove put the work on his very last studio album Lay It Down back in 2008, but it appears it was merely an attempt to rest that timeless voice. Having said that, I'd say we're long overdue for another classic soul revival piece. With Questo or without, Al Green's performance of his cornerstone smashes on The Late Show With David Letterman can be viewed below, just be sure to keep it locked for all of the Reverend's sonic treats, no matter how few or far between. Oh and grab a copy of the Rev's Lay It Down on iTunes, if you've yet to do so.
