Alicia Keys Joins Young M.A., The Roots For "Blended Family" On Fallon
Alicia Keys just released her new album, and she celebrated the occasion with the legendary Roots crew and rising star Young M.A.
"Blended Family" is a highlight from HERE, Keys' new album that hit stores on Friday, Nov. 4. The album version of the song features a verse from A$AP Rocky, but the Grammy-winning musician switched things up for her performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. She enlisted The Roots as her band, as many guests on the show do. But instead of bringing Rocky on the stage with her, she gave the shine to another young NYC upstart: Young M.A., who has become hip-hop's latest star with her hit single "OOOUUU" running radio and clubs this summer and fall.
During an interview with Fallon, Keys and Questlove recount a memory of sharing a studio in the late 1990s. She also speaks about how she overcame her lack of pitching abilities to become so convincing as a team leader on The Voice.
Keys' release of HERE and appearance on Fallon follow the release of two new singles, unveiling the tracklist via DM to fans on Twitter, and a star-studded concert in Times Square that had guest appearances by Jay Z, Nas, John Mayer, Questlove, and Q-Tip.
