A Neo-Nazi leader and founder of a popular white supremacist website began an online campaign to harass American University's first black female student body president.

Taylor Dumpson recently took up her position as student government president at American University and coinciding with the beginning of her tenure, bananas hanging from nooses began to appear on campus. To make matters worse the letters "AKA" were scrawled on the fruit, which is in reference to Dumpson being a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the oldest black sorority, founded in 1908 at Howard University, as well as "Harambe Bait" written on them too.

Following the incident, American University campus police released video of the suspect.

Now, however, neo-Nazi Andrew Anglin has started harassing Dumpson, using his website the Daily Stormer, to encourage users to troll her. In a May 4 Daily Stormer post, Anglin posted pictures and video of Dumpson, along with links to her Facebook account and American University's Twitter address, and sarcastically told readers to "send her some words of support," before adding "let her know you fully support her struggle against bananas."

Upon learning about the posts, school officials provided police protection for Dumpson.

"Our community has been threatened on campus; it continues online," American University spokesperson Teresa Flannerysaid in a statement. "American University will not allow any member of our community to be intimidated and we will not be discouraged. I hope you will stand with Taylor and me and continue to stand up for our values."

The FBI is currently assisting the university in its investigation over the racist incident.
