Anderson Paak, Blended Babies, Donnie Trumpet & Asher Roth Gel On "Make It Work"
Anderson Paak is everywhere these days, and we'll be the last one to complain. The West Coast soul soothsayer will be dropping his self-titled EP--a collaboration with Blended Babies--on September 25th, and is pumping up expectations even more with the new syrupy-smooth cut "Make it Work." The track features talented contributions from both Asher Roth and Donnie Trumpet, and is one of the juiciest, delectable joints we've heard in quite some time. Paak's silky vocals are, as always, right on point, and Babies' drums shuffle the track left and right at a pace that's sure to satisfy even the most devoted of Dilla heads. And through it all, Paak offers a message of love, emoting "I fell in love with your worth / I know that you’re worth it / I really love when it’s earned / It seems like you want this."
The track premiered Wednesday over at Earmilk, and, along with last week's single "So Slow" has us awash in longing memories of warm summer nights--how is it already fall? This one's tailor made for the car, on those outings when the music's so good, you want to drive around the block a few more times.
