Visual Culture : Andre 3000's Outkast Reunion Tour Jumpsuits To Be Featured In 'i feel ya' Exhibit At Art Basel
This summer, the ATL-by-way-of-Stankonia duo known as Outkast celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut Southerplayalisticcadillacmusik LP's 20th anniversary. They did so by hitting two festivals for every year of its greatness in a mad dash across the country and overseas, which easily cemented their set as the most coveted ticket of festival season. That run gave us some legendary on-stage collisions, but one of the more memorable take-aways had to be the blacked-out one-liner jumpsuits a platinum blonde Andre 3000 garbed himself in. The line changed with each and every performance and now a collection of those jet-aged zoot suits will be featured in an exhibit entitled i feel ya. The exhibit is set to begin on December 3rd at Miami's Mana Wynwood and run through the 14th, lining up perfectly with this year's Art Basel. It is being presented by the Savannah College Of Art & Design and it will feature 3K's suits, a a short film from SCAD alum Greg Brunkalia and the exhibit will be followed by a panel discussion with all of the participating artists. So if you're in Miami this year for all of the artsy festivities, head on over Mana for the exhibit and a subsequent discussion with the renaissance man himself.
