Atmosphere Release A New Solar-Powered Video For "Sunshine"
Always ones to keep their message in the foreground, Atmosphere have released a brand new video for their much-beloved 2007 track "Sunshine"--one that's entirely powered by solar energy. The track was originally heard on their Sad Clown Bad Summer 9 EP, but takes on a, yes, whole new light thanks to this clip.
The entire project was made possible by SunPort, a new gadget that makes it possible for everyday energy users to get access to Solar power credits, and functions just like a regular outlet adaptor with no power cells or panels required. In the new Atmosphere video, we see a woman move around by bicycle, slowly making her way through a studio while a weird array of situations play out on all sides. We see friends shooting baskets, friends sunning themselves, a giant butterfly, a human sun, and so much more. It's earnest, strange and entirely unworried with your expectations--much like Atmosphere's music itself.
As they posted the video online, Atmosphere also shared a brilliant behind-the-scenes clip for "Sunshine," which shows us even more of the wonderful uses of SunPort and the levity that dominated the video shoot. Watch it all unfold below and stay tuned for more from the Minneapolis hip-hop duo.
