Audio: Frank Ocean Talks "channel ORANGE" on BBC Radio 1

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.frank-ocean1

You might not agree with everything you're reading about it these days but I think we can all agree that Frank Ocean's debut albumchannel ORANGE is clearly something special. Just as his performance with The Roots and a full-blown string section on LNWJF on the night of the album's surprise early release was clearly something special. As the LP's physical release is drawing nearer (and with digital first week-sales predictions currently coming in around 110,000-125,000) the channel ORANGE story is still far from being told in its entirety. On air with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, the man himself discussed some of the topics surrounding his landmark-in-the-making album, including its early digital release (which led to some troubles with retailers, leading Target to announce that they won't be selling the album in their stores) and the recording process, as well as his live performances. We probably don't even have to say this again but: buy channel ORANGEon iTunes now.
