Stream Mike D's 10 Minute Punk-Trap Jam for Kenzo Fashion Show
Beastie Boys' Mike D has been commissioned to create the soundtrack for fashion house Kenzo's Men's Spring/Summer 2014 Show. The result is a ten-minute assault of trap beats and hardcore punk-influenced guitar. Named for their creative director, Humberto Leon, ""Humberto vs the New Reactionaries: Christine and the Queens Remixx" sounds like early Beastie joints mixed in with the trap production of today's youth. Mike D spoke with Kenzo on his inspiration:
"Talking to Humberto, I wanted to honor what he was inspired by: American hardcore like Black Flag, Bad Brains, Circle Jerks but then I wanted to update it, or maybe couldn't help but to update it. I definitely shared Humberto's passion for American Punk and that raw energy and I think that informs the collection and the soundtrack I did."
