Bernie Sanders Champions "New York Values" As American Values On 'The Nightly Show'
If you've been anywhere near a TV set these last few weeks, you've probably seen, or at least heard, that Bernie Sanders is making the rounds in his hometown. The Brooklyn-born-and-raised presidential hopeful has sounded off in old Flatbush stomping grounds, taking his tour down to Coney Island and then back up to Washington Square Park, where an insurmountable 27,000 people gathered to see the man speak his fiery sermon last night.
After leaving the stage in Washington Square Park, Sanders made a "surprise" appearance on The Nightly Show, where he spoke out against Ted Cruz's defacing of "New York values," championing them as American values that celebrate diversity and strive for equal pay and protection for all races and genders under the law. He capped his appearance off with a mic drop heard 'round the world. And though the skeptic in me is still a little fuzzy on just how he'll implement these reforms, one thing is clear: when Bernie drops the mic, he does it for all of us. Watch Bernie Sanders hit Larry Wilmore's The Nightly Show with all of the truth bombs down below. Tune in to CNN tonight to see him go head-to-head with Hillary Clinton in a nationally televised debate, live and direct from The Republic of Brooklyn.
