Beyoncé's Coachella performance is the gift the keeps on giving... literally.
Following her iconic headlining at Coachella this weekend, Beyoncé will be awarding four Historically Black Colleges and Universities a total of $100, 000 in grants.
The living legend made history at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California Saturday as the first Black woman to headline in the festival’s 19-year existence. Her homage to HBCU's throughout the performance was credited in the Homecoming Scholars 2018 announcement on Monday as "the impetus" to mark her second BeyGOOD Homecoming Scholars Award Program granting scholarships "designed to celebrate and honor excellence through education."
One student from each school— Xavier, Wilberforce, Tuskegee and Bethune-Cookman— will each receive a $25, 000 grant for the 2018-2019 school year. Multiple fields of study are included and according to the Queen Bey's stipulations, to qualify, applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA.

"We salute the rich legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities," Director of Philanthropy and Corporate Relations at Parkwood Entertainment, Ivy McGregor, said in a statement Monday. "We honor all institutions of higher learning for maintaining culture and creating environments for optimal learning which expands dreams and the seas of possibilities for students."

In celebration of the one-year anniversary of her 2016 visual album, LEMONADE, Beyoncé's Formation Scholars Awards Program was established in April 2017 to encourage young women. The Homecoming Scholars Award Program for 2018-2019 was expanded to all qualifying students at the four universities, regardless of gender.
All finalists and winners will be selected by the universities and winners will be announced some time this summer.
