Beyoncé - "Bow Down / I Been On"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

KING Beyoncé knocks the dust off the throne and adjusts her crown with "Bow Down/I Been On" - a screwed up track for the trapaholics that finds Mrs. Carter reaching deep into her H-Town bag to remind the world she's been trill. It is obvious that motherhood and massive success have done nothing to quell Beyoncé's thirst to remain ahead of the pack. This duo of tracks produced by Hit-Boy (with input from Timbaland and Polow Da Don, it appears) dropped to a social media frenzy that has found the singer facing a groundswell of criticism for the umpteenth time in recent months. Whether it is trap music or the unapologetic egotism of the track that does not sit well with some, this joint has the legs to hop out of the frying pan and catch fire. "Bow Down/I Been On" will become a micro-anthem for any women that do it big and don't mind being loud about it. Don't worry, ladies. It is permissible to stunt once in a while. Dust your shoulders off and crank the volume. All of the boys are doing it.
