Video: Big Boi On 106 & Park + The Combat Jack Show [Interviews]
Big Boi - Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors (LP artwork)
Big Boi hit up BET's 106 & Park yesterday to talk with lone host Bow Wow about his upcoming LP Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. Of course, either because Bow Wow is a bad host or because... Bow Wow is a bad host, we hear more about Sir Lucious Left Foot's side gigs than we do of his second solo album. After small talk about the Barack Obama reelection, his love for pitbulls and his two football-playing sons, Antwon (we're on a first name basis here) finally gets asked album-related questions. We hear about his limited edition Converses: Black high tops emblazoned with the Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors album art. Big Boi goes onto assure the audience that his upcoming video for "Mama Told Me" (featuring Kelly Rowland) is guaranteed to be surreal and "freakyyy" when it drops in the next few days. Finally, Bow Wow asks a semi-deep question about the artist's intent behind the new album. Big Boi's response would have us believe that he's on a mission to clear up the lies and rumors ever prevalent in our Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/Google/Blog information era. With all his recent drama, he might need to do this.
Bow Wow may not have had the skill or the time to dig into Big Boi, but a recent Combat Jack Show interview took TWO HOURS to unearth all of the Daddy Fat Sax's demons, skeletons, lies, rumors, etc. If you want to hear more about Big from Big - from getting boo'd at the Source Awards to laced weed to (alleged) beef with Andre 3000 to VLDR - stream the interview after the jump. Big Boi has missed two previously scheduled release dates for Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors but the latest projected date of December 11th looks pretty solid for two reasons: 1) Christmas 2) Money. Happy holidaze indeed.
