Bilal x Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad - "Sirens II"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Bilal returns with "Sirens II" - the first single from his forthcoming full-length LP produced entirely by Adrian Younge and slated to arrive by February 2015. The project also features co-production from Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest. Excited yet? "Sirens II" is a rework of the Adrian Younge Presents: Something About April standout "Sirens", which featured prominently on "Picasso Baby" from Jay Z's 2013 Magna Carta Holy Grail LP. This take, which premiered via Life + Times, is a rebirth of the iron-clad funk production that retains the familiar theme lead by Younge's unctuous bassline and juxtaposes that with the mellifluous, fire-laden vocal Bilal has been using to entrance fans since his first project surfaced in 2001. Seamless harmonies volley with Bilal's cold falsetto solo to create a sweat-soaked lullaby addled with sugar and salt and sex. The result is a beautiful beginning that suggests Bilal's next chapter will be even more airtight than the last. Check the track below to listen to "Sirens II."
