Black Atlass - "Beauty Queen" [Demo]

Black Atlass throws a bit of a curve-ball with the acoustic demo "Beauty Queen." Gone is the lo-fi wizardry of the Canadian jack-of-all-trades' brief catalogue, replaced with a very Tracy Chapman-ish type of groove, jumping from sultry mid-range to impressive falsetto over some soulful guitar work. Despite this stripped-down one-off, The former First Look seems to be picking up steam, scoring bougie-galore French fashion imprint Yves Saint Laurent's most recent ad and injecting it with those dark, electric textures. Atlass' Young Blood EP is out now on Fool's Gold Records and can be purchased via iTunes today.
