The rapper offered an update on Black Star's highly-anticipated album produced by Madlib.
It's been a minute since we last received an update on Black Star's forthcoming album with Madlib. A few months ago Talib Kweli said that he, Yasiin Bey, and Madlib had been working on the project "a lot lately." Prior to that, Madlib had said Kweli and Bey had recorded eight tracks for the project.

Now, Kweli has offered another update on the new album. The rapper called in to Ebro's Beats 1 radio show on Tuesday while the media personality was speaking with DJ Premiere about the new Gang Starr album, One of the Best Yet. (Kweli appears on the new album.)
After being asked about his music plans for the rest of 2019 and 2020, Kweli takes the moment to speak on the new Black Star album.
"This project with Madlib is done. We just trying to figure out when and how to release it," Kweli says.
On his Twitter, Ebro also shared a video snippet from his interview with Premier where he asked Kweli about the forthcoming project.
"So Black Star Madlib is a thing?" Ebro asks.
"Yes. That's a confirmed thing. I listen to it all the time," Kweli responds.
The portion of the radio show where Kweli talks about the upcoming Black Star album can be found around the 1:13:46 mark.
