Gilles Peterson's collective, Sonzeira,  has done us all a favor and released the title track for the group's upcoming album, Brasil Bam Bam Bam. Here, he teams up with Brazilian samba legend Seu Jorge for a song that sounds like nothing else.  Peterson's new Brazilian album has brought him into creative contact with Jorge as well as "top-tier veteran and modern Brazilian artists like Marcus Valle, Elza Soares, Wilson Das Neves, Nina Miranda, Arlindo Cruz, and Gabriel Moura"  The new song-- a deft balance between  jazz  and samba--  is the perfect opportunity for Brasil Bam Bam Bam to show off its forte: balance.

As the track plays, you can vividly hear the wide variety of genre influence. Hypnotic beats suggest the sort of club music Peterson has built his name on while adding Jorge's deep and playful voice to the track keeps its Samba tradition alive. No one culture in this melting pot of a track overpowers the other; it truly is greater than the sum of its parts. Peterson is doing what he does best-- striking And, even more importantly, he is bringing out the best in his featured artists. Jorge's deep baritone voice blends perfectly with the percussion from the collective's as-of-yet untitled track. The song is an incredible taste of an album that is so close to its May 27th release, so jump on that pre-order link.
