"Shake your hand, shake your hand!" With a little over two months left until Christmas, it's time to start creating your holiday playlist. If you're thinking about busting out that favorite Christmas album you've loved since '01, think again. And if you thought there couldn't possibly be another take of "This Christmas," you thought wrong.
CeeLo's been in the studio, collaborating with The Muppets, The Voice's co-judge Christina Aguilera and others to produce CeeLo's Magic Moment, a Christmas/Holiday album. The 14-track album, set for release October 30, features classic Christmas and seasonal songs like "All I Want For Christmas," "White Christmas," "Baby It's Cold Outside," and "Silent Night." CeeLo adds to the number of classics on the album by taking on Donny Hathaway's "This Christmas," becoming the 25th major-label recording artist to cover the song. Initially, it's surprising that CeeLo's rendition is so complicit with the original, but after the second or third listen the song becomes him. Donny would be proud.
The most original, albeit unusual, contribution CeeLo makes with Magic Moment is the doo-wop-y collaboration with The Muppets, "All I Need Is Love" -- definitely a song to add to your playlists. CeeLo recently performed the feel-good track with The Muppets at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. That performance is set to premier on Warner Music Group's YouTube channel on November 26. Keep your eyes peeled.
