Yesterday, Fortune Magazine put out their list of the World's Greatest Leaders. It's a list that includes Pope Francis, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Chicago Cups President Theo Epstein (who came in at number one.)
Keep scrolling down the list and you'll see a familiar name, one that might be surprising to some, but probably shouldn't be once you think about it: Chance The Rappercame in on the World's Greatest Leaders list at number 46, before people like London's mayor Sadiq Khan.
The case Fortune makes is centered around Chance The Rapper's independence and the work he's done in his community in Chicago: two weeks ago, Chance announced that he was donating one million dollars to Chicago Public Schools. He also very publicly called out Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner for his treatment of public schools, after a meeting they had.
His work has been so influential he even got a shout-out from Michelle Obama.
Congratulations to Chance. We wonder where he will be next year?
