Childish Gambino Discusses His Transition From Comedy To Music On 'Conan'
As far as rap-game dynamos are concerned, Childish Gambino (government name: Donald Glover) is perhaps one of the most eccentric -- at least on wax -- as they get. But even with his hand and heart in so many places at once, Bino's personality, or the array thereof, is what typically catches and holds his fanbase. Whether it be on big or little screens, crooning or rapping supremely on anyone of his fantastically dope albums (see Because The Internet) or gracing stages with unparalleled energy with band in tow, Bino brims with confidence and poise no matter the venue or discipline. Last night, the man of many hats dropped by Conan to discuss his transition from behind-the-scenes 30 Rock scribe to making some of the most compelling genre-blurring albums in the game. He notes, it was ill-advised, but wholly fulfilling, with his mother begging him not to change course, but it's hard to argue that we're not all better for it. You can watch Childish Gambino discuss the transition below along with the full list of forthcoming Australian tour dates.
