Childish Gambino makes good on a childhood dream of getting his own Gangsta Grillz presented mixtape with the release of STN MTN. While we were sure that this would be a bifurcated effort from the artist FKA Donald Glover, the release of STN MTN as a standalone and a broken link to iTunes on the side where part deux would be, has us feeling the Jaden Smith-featured kauai tape might have been upgraded to EP, or even LP status. Bino salutes his ATLien upbringing with a barrage of recut trap favorites, both contemporary and classic. So if that's where your pallet lays, this tape's for you.
But that's not all the dynamic and often cryptic performer's offering today, letting loose another glimmering single in the Christian Rich-produced cut "The Palisades," lush with his impressive falsetto and sunny Neptunes-esque r&b stylings. This one falls perfectly in-line with that bubbly synth-pop number "Sober," which we got our ears on just a few weeks back.
