Childish Gambino x Thundercat Debut "Shadows" On The Arsenio Hall Show

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Jack-of-all-trades Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) called on contemporary bass guru Thundercat to debut his single "Shadows" on The Arsenio Hall Show last night. AHS has a knack for conducting come of the more casual interviews in the late night circuit and the quiet and odd-ball emcee/singer/actor/stand-up took full advantage, hitting the couch with slippers on, which is exactly where the performance began. After a short discourse, during which he was given the opportunity to dispel all the rumors of his leaving the cast of Community and his alleged family ties with actor Danny Glover, Cat joins him on the couch (six-string in hand) to commence a dynamic performance of the lead-off single from his upcoming LP Because The Internet.

The performance boasts an impressive falsetto from the whimsical rapper over a spaced-out synth-laden track (think Frank Ocean meets Weather Report) with a band led by our boy Cat. Having recently been featured on a Kenna remix and a slew of other tracks by some of the industry's most elite up-and-comers, the artist formerly known as Donald Glover is showing us that there's so much more to his artistry underneath the scruffy comedic surface. His sophomore effort Because The Internet is due out December 10th featuring collaborations with Chance The Rapper, Azealia Banks, Jhene Aiko and Lloyd. Catch Childish Gambino's debut of "Shadows" on The Arsenio Hall Show below.
