Chris Rock Is Hosting the Season Premiere of 'Saturday Night Live,' Megan Thee Stallion Announced as Guest

The NBC show airing its premiere on Saturday, October 3 is celebrating its 46th season this year.

Chris Rock is set to host the premiere of NBC’s Saturday Night Live on October 3. Megan Thee Stallion will be bringing a piece of Houston, Texas to the show as a musical guest that same night.

This is Rock’s third time hosting the show which is celebrating its 46th season on Saturday. This gig will come after the premiere of his starring role in the critically acclaimed series Fargo on September 27.

Megan who’s arguably had a successful yet chaotic 2020 was recently announced as one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people. Notably, her album Suga has racked up over 900 million streams since it dropped back in March.

In August, when “WAP,” her and Cardi B’s collaboration, it debuted with one of the biggest streaming weeks of all time. The raunchy track accompanied by a video was the talk of the Internet for quite some time after it arrived. Megan’s appearance on SNL will be her solo debut. She joined Chance The Rapper when he performed “Handsome” last September, Chance also hosted that evening.

Since this week has been a bit of a heavy one, we’re hoping Rock can bring a bit of solace and comedic relief to the entire nation. The unsettling indictment that followed Breonna Taylor’s case has indefinitely placed a feeling of grief across communities in Black America. No officers were held accountable for their role in her untimely death.

The SNL season premiere will air on NBC on October 3 at 11:30 p.m. ET.
