Chromeo Drops New Track "Over Your Shoulder" Off Upcoming 'White Women' LP

Chromeo-Over-Your-Shoulder

Funkateers rejoice! The electric duo Chromeo have dropped their single "Over Your Shoulder," a track that was teased in their grandiose trailer for the upcoming LP White Women. If you caught last week's teaser, then you definitely caught a glimpse  of their polished, synthed-out funky single playing in the background of what was just an absolute treat of a trailer sporting obvious influence from Italo-disco giant Giorgio Moroder and American hit-maker Nile Rodgers, with just a bit of Brazil's Deodato sprinkled on top. Making this track one with global flair. Here's an excerpt from a LivinCool interview a few months back, speaking on the new effort and possible release date:

"It’s a more dancey, poppy and lighthearted album than our last one, which was moody and sophisticated. We still have that sophistication on the new joint, but we wanted to combine it with a party feel that brings you back to the Fancy Footwork record. Bigger hooks though…and funnier lyrics…to us at least. As for inspiration, let’s see…our usual synth funk stuff…with maybe a bit of disco thrown in there this time: Abba, ELO, Bee Gees. Some newer stuff too…LCD, Dev Hynes, some UK deep house. You’re going to laugh but I’ve even been listening to some old Maroon 5 for ideas. We don’t draw the line between good and bad taste, so we find inspiration in everything. We’ve been really into ZZ Top lately as well."

With a pending release date and three shows already announced to support the release, White Women seems poised to kill in the late fall.  UK fans can catch the tandem at London's XOYO on November 6th and on November 8th at Annie Mac's Warehouse Project in Manchester along side Major Lazor and Diplo. New Yorkers can catch their resident electronic duo at Webster Hall on November 14th. Peep the glittery new track below.
